Regional STBG and TAP Funding


The Region V Planning Affiliation is accepting applications for regional Surface Transportation Block Grant funding (STBG). Communities in the region may use STBG funding for transportation-related projects on any federal-aid highway, bridges on public roads, and transit capital projects.

For Federal FY 2028, approximately $3.1 million in Surface Transportation Program funding is available.
The application deadline is May 10, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. Please make sure all information is included before submitting an application. Incomplete applications will be rejected.

The Region V Planning Affiliation is also accepting applications for regional Transportation Alternative Grant funding (TAP). TAP funding funds programs defined as transportation alternatives, which includes land procurement for trails, trail development, historic preservation of historic transportation facilities, construction of turnouts, overlooks, and viewing areas.
For Federal FY 2027, approximately $840,000 in regional TAP Program funding is available, and in Federal FY 2028, an additional $290,000 in regional TAP Program funding is available.
